A Work in Progress

Here is the little painting that took so much effort for so little improvement. The things that I didn’t like about it include the much too shiny mirror-like reflection on the beach, the sea foam is too thick and choppy, and the dark sand looks like something..well, nasty, like it might smell bad, any way I wanted to tone it down;)… also the wave seemed too close to the actual beach, so I will move it out and change some colors, etc.

Some improvement, but now I don’t like the sky. Also I lost all the reflective quality of the sand, and the sea foam in foreground is almost gone…sigh…

Completely changed sky, added some clouds, and added back in pink reflection in sand. Also pushed wave deeper into picture plane. At this point I’m really needing a break from this project, so I took a nap! The next post will be about the new painting that flowed with me, instead of fighting me. Check back tomorrow.
